The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hon. Pal Mai Deng, today officiated the Launch and Inception Workshop for ‘Water At the Heart of Climate Action’ Project [W@HCA] at Pyramid Hotel, Juba, South Sudan.
This important event was attended by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hon. Albino Akol Atak Mayom, H.E. Amb. Marjan Schippers, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to South Sudan, representatives from relevant government institutions, humanitarian partners, and agencies, including the Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in South Sudan.
Both ministers stressed the importance of emergency preparedness, response, and awareness to mitigate global and regional climatic changes. Furthermore, they promised to cooperate and coordinate with partners, the donor community, and sectors concerned to create a conducive environment for humanitarian intervention.
