Ministry Commends Deputy Governor’s Decision to Adjust Water Prices

The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, alongside the South Sudan Urban Water Corporation, expresses gratitude to Deputy Governor of Central Equatoria State, Hon. Sarah Nene. Her recent decision aligns with the Ministry’s stance, reverting water prices to SSP 800 and SSP 1000 per drum, based on tanker travel distances.

Simultaneously, commendations extend to security forces, Juba City Council, and the Acting Mayor for enforcing water truck compliance. Appreciation goes to patriotic South Sudanese truck owners who resisted joining the foreign-led strike.

Report blue water tanker violations above SSP 1000 to security organs, police, and others. The Ministry strives for affordable water through partnerships with private firms, emphasizing household connections and government delivery for lower-income households. Project acceleration will follow as time and resources permit.
