National WASH Joint Sector Review Conference, 27-29 February 2024.

Overall theme: Transitioning from Humanitarian to sustainable development in the WASH sector.

Overall objective: Strengthening collaboration to accelerate progress for achieving universal access to water, sanitation and hygiene.

Conference objectives

1. Review water, sanitation and hygiene sector services delivery and governance status across the states, administrative areas, and the country at large.
2. Strengthen water, sanitation and hygiene sector coordination and collaboration towards identification of gaps, harmonization of approaches, and cementing of partnerships and sector financing.
3. Provide clarity on institutional arrangements for the provision of water supply, sanitation and hygiene in urban, emerging towns and rural areas including roles of different government bodies i.e. county governments.
4. Strategize on how to address Gender Equity and Social Inclusion in water, sanitation and hygiene sector service delivery.
5. Foster local and private sector WASH services delivery policy and organization for sustainability of urban, rural and emerging towns WASH systems.
