Urban water supply
The Lologo Water Treatment Plant is a flagship urban water investment of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation. Since 2022 it has supplied treated water to about 35,000 people in Juba through a network of 18 kiosks, reaching both displaced and host communities.
The plant is operated with support from UNICEF South Sudan and KfW. Joint visits with kiosk operators, beneficiaries and government counterparts are used to keep the works running and to plan the next phase of operation and maintenance with the South Sudan Urban Water Corporation.
Lologo demonstrates how treatment, distribution and community kiosks can be combined to expand reliable access in the capital while longer-term household connections are developed.
