Climate resilience
Water at the Heart of Climate Action (W@HCA) is a partnership programme launched in Juba in November 2023. Hon. Pal Mai Deng officiated the inception workshop at Pyramid Hotel with the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The programme brings together government institutions, humanitarian partners and the Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in South Sudan. It focuses on emergency preparedness, response and public awareness as climate and hydrological risks increase.
MWRI uses W@HCA to align water management with disaster risk reduction and to keep a working channel with donors for humanitarian and climate-resilient intervention.
