The National WASH Joint Sector Review is the Ministry's principal forum for assessing water, sanitation and hygiene delivery across states, administrative areas and the country. The 2024 conference ran from 27 to 29 February under the theme of transitioning from humanitarian response to sustainable development.

Its objective is to strengthen collaboration so South Sudan can accelerate universal access to water, sanitation and hygiene. Delegates review service delivery and governance, identify gaps, harmonise approaches, and clarify institutional roles for urban, emerging-town and rural supply, including county governments.

The review also addresses gender equity and social inclusion, and the role of local and private providers in keeping WASH systems running after construction.
